Paper Types

Text weight paper and cover weight paper are two different types of paper based on their weight and thickness.

Text weight paper, also known as book weight paper, is a lightweight paper that is commonly used for the pages inside a book or magazine. It is typically thinner and more flexible than cover weight paper, making it easier to turn pages and handle. Text weight paper is commonly measured in pounds (lb) and ranges from around 50lb to 100lb.

Cover weight paper, also known as cardstock, is a thicker and sturdier paper that is commonly used for covers, business cards, invitations, and other products that require a more durable material. It is usually measured in points (pt) or pounds (lb) and typically ranges from around 60pt to 130lb. Cover weight paper has a more substantial feel and provides a higher level of durability and stability compared to text weight paper.

The main difference between text weight paper and cover weight paper is their weight and thickness, with text weight paper being thinner and more lightweight and cover weight paper being thicker and more durable. The choice between the two will depend on the intended use of the paper product.
